Building Trust as a Voice for the Community
Platform:
Top Three Priorities
SECURE our Local Police: fully fund the police department
Protect our Land and Bucolic Unspoiled Character: be strategic and prepare for approaching risks
Balance the Budget: direct funding to residents’ priorities
I have the knowledge and experience and will work collaboratively with my colleagues to bring fresh ideas while supporting what we have to hit the ground running Day 1 to focus on Residents’ priorities
A Collaborative Facilitator to bring together Council, Community and Staff
I fully support retention of our Local Police. Securing our local police is essential for safety, yet placed at risk by fiscal deficits.
My Approach
I have been a vigorous advocate of safety, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and local land rights while preserving and protecting PVE for over a decade. Retaining and securing our local police is essential for safety.
Our most significant issue is financial, and it has only gotten worse the past few years. We just spent over $3 million in federal Covid funds. Yet, we are still running a multi-million-dollar cash deficit, meaning we are spending our savings to stay afloat. This is not sustainable.
We need to stop spending time and money on unnecessary projects such as the tree inventory, roundabout, new city hall buildings, rezoning La Venta, etc. and focus on solving critical issues.
My knowledge of the city budget and debt is extensive. I have studied the issues and have fresh recommendations so I can hit the ground running on day one. We need to communicate effectively and engage residents in the process. Our City policies and expenditures need to align with the priorities of the residents.
We need to bring people together for a better path forward.
This begins by building trust.
Protecting our land is important. We’ve done it before. Let’s continue together.
The PVE Land Preservation Act brought residents together on a shared goal. Let’s continue to solve our problems, build trust bring our community together.
Your voice matters. Our community makes the best decisions when all voices are heard.
